Three ways we look after a workforce

Before they join. While they work. Right where they work.

Most requested

Pre-employment screening, fully managed

Your candidates walk into an accredited diagnostic centre near them. We book them, the tests are done, a doctor reviews the results, and HR receives a fitness report — fit, fit with restrictions, or needs review.

  • Any number of candidates, any state
  • Role-based tests — no paying for tests you don't need
  • We chase results, so HR doesn't
  • One agreed price per candidate: test cost + coordination
Included in corporate plans

Annual on-site Health Week

Already on a Clearline corporate plan? Once a year our doctor comes to your office for basic health checks — blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI and more. Scope depends on your plan.

  • No queue at a hospital, no lost workday
  • Abnormal results go straight into care on the plan
  • A wellness talk your staff actually remember
For larger sites

In-house clinic, set up and managed

Need a clinic inside your factory, plant or office? We set it up and run it — staff, protocols, drugs and referrals into the Clearline network. We already run clinics like this for client organisations.

  • First aid and minor illness handled on site
  • Fewer hours lost travelling to hospital
  • One partner for the clinic and the HMO

Why serious employers screen before they hire.

01

The right person in the right role

A good candidate can still be the wrong fit for a job that demands sharp eyes, a steady heart or a strong back. The medical answers one question: can this person do this job safely?

02

Safety-critical jobs carry other people's lives

Drivers, machine operators, electricians and guards. An undetected problem with vision, heart rhythm or hearing becomes an accident with your company's name on it.

03

Food handlers are a legal matter

Anyone who touches food you sell needs a food-handler medical under Nigeria's national guideline and NAFDAC's food hygiene rules. One sick food handler can close a kitchen.

04

A baseline protects you later

If an employee says the job damaged their hearing, lungs or back, a dated baseline shows what was there on day one. No baseline, no defence.

05

Silent conditions, found early

High blood pressure and diabetes have no symptoms. Caught at screening, they become a care plan on your HMO — not a stroke, a funeral levy and a vacancy.

06

Cheaper than one bad hire

Recruitment, training, absence, replacement. A role-based medical costs a fraction of one failed placement — and only includes tests that answer a real question.

Three myths that waste employers' money

“Do Widal for everyone — it shows typhoid carriers.”Widal is not a carrier test. Use it only where a clinician or authority asks. Food handlers follow the national food-handler pathway instead.
“Genotype and malaria tests should decide who we hire.”Genotype is personal health information, not a hiring test. A malaria test is for someone with symptoms, not a gate.
“More tests means a safer workforce.”A test earns its place when it answers a clinical, safety or legal question for that role. Everything else is spend without protection.

The rules we build in, so you don't get sued

Done properly, screening protects the employer and the employee.

No HIV test as a hiring condition

Nigeria's HIV and AIDS (Anti-Discrimination) Act 2014 and the national workplace policy forbid it. HIV testing is offered only as voluntary, counselled healthcare.

Hepatitis B is not an automatic “no”

A positive result is a clinical matter for care and, where relevant, work adjustments — decided by a doctor, not a rejection letter.

Medical data is sensitive data

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, HR receives the fitness conclusion and any restrictions. Diagnoses and raw results stay with the medical provider.

Consent before every test

Candidates are told what is tested and why, and sign before samples are taken. That protects you if anything is ever disputed.

Food handlers: certificate and renewal

The food-handler medical is renewed on a cycle, with illness reporting between medicals. We track expiry dates so no one works on an expired certificate.

5+ staff? Health insurance is a duty

Under the NHIA Act 2022, employers with five or more staff must provide health insurance. Screening is the start; the HMO keeps them well after.

Why hand this to me

One person who owns the whole process.

I'm Azuka Orumgbe, Corporate Partnerships at ClearlineHMO. I've spoken about paying for sickness every day for more than 1,200 days and worked with 30+ organisations. Screening goes wrong in the gaps — the candidate who never went, the result nobody chased, the certificate that expired. I close the gaps.

  1. We don't own the tests, so we pick the right centre — accredited partners near your candidates, including Clearline's sister company, Clinix Healthcare Diagnostics.
  2. Role-based, not a random list — every test answers a clinical, safety or legal question for that job.
  3. We chase, you hire — bookings, no-shows, missing results and re-tests handled by us.
  4. Privacy by design — HR gets fitness status; clinical details stay with the doctor.
  5. Findings become care — a raised BP or sugar goes straight into treatment on the Clearline plan.
  6. Certificates tracked — food-handler and periodic renewals with reminders before expiry.

Questions HR managers ask.

How much does pre-employment screening cost?
It depends on the roles and tests. A basic office medical costs far less than a food-handler or driver medical. Build your list above and Azuka sends a costed plan per role — the price covers the tests at partner tariffs plus our coordination.
Do candidates have to come to one hospital?
No. We refer each candidate to an accredited diagnostic centre or hospital near them, so a candidate in Benin doesn't travel to Lagos.
How fast do results come back?
Most basic panels return within a few working days of the visit; cultures and specialist tests take longer. You'll get turnaround times with the quote, and we chase any delay.
Is the annual on-site screening extra?
For Clearline corporate clients, an annual Health Week with basic checks is part of the plan (the scope depends on your plan). Pre-employment screening for new candidates is arranged and billed separately.
Can we test for HIV or pregnancy before hiring?
No. HIV testing as a condition of employment is prohibited in Nigeria, and pregnancy is not a fitness test. Both can be offered only as voluntary healthcare with consent.
We are not a Clearline client. Can we still use this?
Yes. Screening is available to any business. Many clients later put their staff on a Clearline plan so the conditions screening finds are actually treated.
